Apostille Service in Mesquite, Texas
Apostille Request Form
Known as the Rodeo Capital of Texas, Mesquite sits on the east side of Dallas County where Interstates 20, 30 and 635 meet, with a portion of the city reaching into Kaufman County. In recent years it has also become a landing spot for manufacturers from outside the United States, and that has added a new kind of paperwork to the usual family requests.
Apostille Authentications helps Mesquite residents and companies get Texas documents authenticated for use abroad. You send your papers to our Texas office in Houston by mail or courier; we review them and file the request with the Texas Secretary of State.
Foreign Manufacturers and Logistics Employers in Mesquite
The Mesquite Economic Development office reports that two clean energy manufacturers, Canadian Solar of Canada and Hexagon Purus of Norway, opened their first U.S. facilities in the city. Its employer directory also lists Hithium, General Dynamics, PepsiCo’s bottling plant, which it describes as the largest in North America, UPS, FedEx Ground’s DFW hub, a Walmart training center, and an Ashley Furniture fulfillment center that is one of the company’s 15 global locations.
A U.S. plant answering to a parent abroad often has to send documents home, such as:
- Texas certificates of formation, good standing or fact for the parent company’s records or regulators
- Board minutes, resolutions and officer certificates signed before a Texas notary
- Powers of attorney naming local managers or foreign directors
- Personal documents for transferred staff and their families
Both Canada and Norway are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, Canada since January 2024, so an apostille is usually what those recipients expect. If a translation is required, we can arrange document translation alongside it.
Where Mesquite Residents Get Certified Records
Most Mesquite records are Dallas County records. The table summarizes the Dallas County Clerk’s birth certificate page and the District Clerk’s location page.
| Need | Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Long-form birth certificate, death certificate, marriage record | Dallas County Clerk, Records Building, 500 Elm St., Suite 2100, Dallas; (214) 653-7099 | Weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; long forms available for Mesquite births |
| Short-form (abstract) birth certificate | Mesquite Justice of the Peace 2-2 substation; (972) 285-5429 | Short form only; call for address and hours |
| Divorce decree or other district court order | Dallas County District Clerk, 600 Commerce St., Suite 103, Dallas; (214) 653-7301 | Weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. |
| Records filed in the Kaufman County part of town | Kaufman County offices | Request from Kaufman County or from the state |
The county clerk charges $23 per certified birth copy and says mailed requests take two to four weeks. In person you can pay cash and leave with the record. Births at certain Dallas hospitals, such as Parkland Memorial and Baylor Dallas, are not available as long forms from the county; those, like any Texas birth, can come from Texas Vital Statistics (DSHS). Choose “Apostille” as the reason on the state’s form.
Eastfield Campus and Mesquite ISD Transcripts
Dallas College’s Eastfield Campus at 3737 Motley Drive has served Mesquite, Garland and southeast Dallas County since 1970. Its signature programs include automotive technology, digital media, advanced manufacturing and mechatronics, and social work. Columbia College also runs a Mesquite campus on the Eastfield grounds. Mesquite ISD, with six high schools, educates most local students.
A transcript or diploma from any of these schools must be prepared before the state will touch it. The Secretary of State asks for a signed statement from the school official describing the document, notarized with a proper certificate and seal. Request this from the registrar or records office along with your official copy, then let us look it over.
Family Documents From Mesquite Households
Personal records still make up a large share of Mesquite requests. A resident might need a marriage certificate to register a wedding with a consulate, a child’s birth certificate for a second passport, or a parent’s death certificate to close an account abroad. Divorce decrees come up when someone plans to remarry in another country and must show the earlier marriage has ended.
Before ordering, confirm two things with the receiving office: whether it wants the long-form birth certificate, and how recent the certified copy must be. Texas guidance treats recordable documents as needing to be less than five years old, and some foreign offices set an even shorter window. A fresh copy from Elm Street or the state avoids a rejection later.
Apostille Versus Legalization for Mesquite Documents
An apostille works only in countries that belong to the Hague Convention. For non-member countries, such as the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait, documents go through embassy legalization, a longer chain of certifications. Our country requirements page shows which route your destination uses.
Federal records follow a separate path. An FBI identity history summary, for example, is authenticated by the U.S. Department of State; see our FBI apostille service.

Mesquite Apostille Questions
Can I get a birth certificate for an apostille at the Mesquite justice of the peace substation?
The Mesquite Justice of the Peace 2-2 substation, (972) 285-5429, issues only the short abstract form. Many foreign offices want the long form, which the Dallas County Clerk can issue for Mesquite births at 500 Elm Street in Dallas. Ask the receiving country which version it accepts before ordering.
I was born in the Kaufman County part of Mesquite. Where is my record?
Records filed in Kaufman County are kept by Kaufman County, not Dallas County. If you are unsure of the county, order from Texas Vital Statistics and enter Apostille as the reason.
Can a diploma from Dallas College Eastfield Campus be apostilled?
Yes, once a college official signs a statement about the diploma or transcript in front of a notary. Texas then apostilles the notary’s signature. Contact the college’s records office to request that notarized statement.
Our Mesquite plant is owned by a Canadian company. Do documents for Canada still need legalization?
No. Canada joined the Hague Apostille Convention in January 2024, so a Texas apostille is the correct certificate for most public documents going there.
Can I walk documents into a Mesquite office of yours?
We do not operate in Mesquite. Clients mail or courier documents to our Texas office at 6124 Hwy 6 N in Houston, and we submit them to the Secretary of State.
