How Charlotte customers order

Start with the quote form. Attach your document as a PDF, JPEG, PNG or Word file and say which agency or school will receive the translation. You get a price (from $65 per page) and a delivery date, typically 1 to 2 business days out. The finished translation arrives electronically or by mail with its signed certificate of accuracy.

We work in 100 languages, most often Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Czech. For a language outside that group, ask before ordering. If the receiving office wants the translator’s statement notarized for North Carolina, we hire a notary commissioned in North Carolina to do that. No translation company can guarantee an agency’s decision, so check the recipient’s written requirements. Phone (971) 514-3743, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Getting a North Carolina apostille from Charlotte

There is no apostille counter in Charlotte. Every North Carolina apostille comes from the Secretary of State’s Authentication Office in Raleigh, so from Charlotte the usual route is mail or courier. Send a cover letter naming the destination country, the original document, $10.00 per document by check or money order payable to North Carolina Secretary of State, and a prepaid return envelope or carrier label to: Authentication Office, NC Secretary of State, PO Box 29622, Raleigh, NC 27626-0622.

Hand delivery is accepted at 2 South Salisbury Street in Raleigh without an appointment, and the office says mailed requests generally take five business days longer than hand-delivered ones.

Certified copies from the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds or the Clerk of Superior Court can be submitted without notarization. Other documents are signed before a North Carolina notary first. A document in another language needs a certified or notarized English translation, and we can help you assemble the request.

UNC Charlotte and foreign academic records

UNC Charlotte publishes different rules for different applicants. Undergraduate admissions states that the University does not evaluate foreign high school transcripts and instead requires an official course-by-course credential evaluation from a NACES-accredited agency. Graduate admissions states that a transcript earned outside the United States must be issued in English or translated by a certified academic translation company. Read the current instructions for your program before ordering, because the evaluation agency or the graduate school decides which translations it will take.

Languages, immigration filings and consulates in Charlotte

About one in four Charlotte residents, 25.3 percent, speaks a language other than English at home, and 19.7 percent were born outside the United States, according to Census Bureau ACS 2024 one-year estimates. The city’s population in that survey is 943,474.

Immigration paperwork follows 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3): each foreign-language document submitted to USCIS needs a full English translation that the translator certifies as complete and accurate, with a statement that the translator is competent in both languages. A notary’s stamp is not a substitute, and North Carolina law (G.S. 10B-20) bars nonattorney notaries from advertising as immigration consultants unless federally accredited.

On consulates, rely on each government’s own website for locations and document rules. Honduras’s foreign ministry has announced a consulate in Charlotte. Mexico’s consulate general for the state is in Raleigh, at 431 Raleigh View Road.
