Its page for international applicants says high school transcripts must be translated into English and that translations must be official and completed by a certified translation service. College and university transcripts must also be translated into English.
Applicants who want credit for earlier college work need an official course by course evaluation from an approved evaluation service at their own expense. How ordering works for Edison customers
Send the document through the quote form. We confirm the price, which starts at $65 per page, and the date you will have it, usually 1 to 2 business days later. The finished translation includes a certificate of accuracy signed by the translator.
For immigration filings, 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires a full English translation with the translator’s certification that it is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate. We prepare the certificate with that rule in mind but cannot promise how any office will rule on a document.

Edison to Trenton: the New Jersey apostille process
In New Jersey the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services, part of the Department of the Treasury, issues apostilles. The office is in Trenton.
Requests begin in the Division’s online Apostille/Certification Service, where you pay by credit card or e-check and receive a confirmation page to mail or drop off with the documents. Treasury lists PO Box 628, Trenton, NJ 08625-0628 for mail. Each certificate costs $25, or $5 for a child adoption. Expedited counter service at 33 West State Street, 5th Floor adds $500 for two hours or $1,000 for one hour.
Notarized documents must carry the original inked signature of the New Jersey notary and of the person who had the document notarized. Treasury recommends a notarized English translation for documents in another language and charges for two apostilles when that translation is attached to a vital record.
The state directs people to get vital records for apostille from the Office of Vital Statistics and Registry and to note the apostille purpose on the application. Edison’s own application form repeats that instruction.
Where a New Jersey notarization of the translation is required, we engage a notary commissioned in New Jersey to notarize the translator’s statement. We also assist with apostille requests.
When a translation needs to be notarized for New Jersey, for example for a New Jersey apostille, we hire a notary commissioned in New Jersey to notarize the translator’s statement.
