Las Vegas marriage certificates for use abroad
Marriage records for weddings performed in Las Vegas are kept by the Clark County Clerk. The Clerk’s office is at 200 Lewis Avenue, 5th Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89101, phone (702) 671-0500, and its marriage guide lists certified copies at $20 each.
You can order online, by mail or in person. The Clerk mails copies by standard post and says to allow up to 3 weeks, or up to 6 weeks for international orders. It offers a certified copy of the certificate and a certified abstract of marriage; the Clerk notes that the certified copy may be needed by most government agencies and some foreign countries.
The Clerk does not issue apostilles. Its site says some governments require one and that apostilles are obtained from the Nevada Secretary of State. If the receiving country also wants the certificate in its own language, that is where a certified translation comes in.

Apostille route from Las Vegas
Nevada apostilles are issued only by the Secretary of State, at a statutory fee of $20 per authentication (NRS 240.1657). The main office is at 101 N. Carson Street, Suite 3, Carson City, NV 89701. A state document also lists a Secretary of State office in the valley at 2250 Las Vegas Blvd North, Suite 400, North Las Vegas, NV 89030.
Confirm on the Secretary of State’s apostille pages whether your request should be mailed or brought to a counter, and what form and expedite choices apply. The statute bars authentication of a document that was not notarized under Nevada’s notary law.
For a notarized translation headed for a Nevada apostille, we hire a notary commissioned in Nevada to notarize the translator’s statement, and we can help with the apostille request.
UNLV and translated academic records
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas tells international undergraduate applicants that credentials not in English must come with a word-for-word English translation certified as true by a university official, a U.S. embassy or consulate representative, or an approved professional translating service. The translation must be signed by the translator and accompanied by the original-language documents. UNLV evaluates credentials in house and also accepts course-by-course evaluations from NACES member agencies.
Going the other way, UNLV’s Registrar explains that it has no notary on site. Graduates who need a notarized transcript or diploma for use abroad arrange an independent notary, who then meets Registrar staff to have the document verified and signed.

Immigration and DMV paperwork
USCIS requires a full English translation with the translator’s certification of accuracy and competence for any foreign-language document (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). Our certificate covers both statements.
The Nevada DMV is different. It accepts only translations by DMV-approved translators carrying a DMV-issued translator number, so use the DMV’s list for license or Driver Authorization Card paperwork.
