College credentials: JCCC and the KU Edwards Campus
Johnson County Community College, at 12345 College Blvd., publishes a specific rule for coursework completed outside the United States. It reviews only course-by-course evaluations from a member of NACES or AICE, asks for a GPA calculation, and requires the evaluation to be mailed to the college directly by the evaluation service. JCCC treats the evaluation as a recommendation only, and it considers international credits earned at the bachelor level, not master or doctoral credits.
Credential evaluators normally work from English translations of your diploma and transcript, so the translation comes first. Check the evaluator’s own translation requirements before you order, because each one sets its own.
The University of Kansas Edwards Campus is at 12600 Quivira Road in Overland Park. KU’s graduate admissions rule is that transcripts in a language other than English must be accompanied by English translations.
Translations for USCIS filings
Federal regulation 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires that any document containing a foreign language submitted to USCIS be accompanied by a full English translation. The translator must certify that the translation is complete and accurate and that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.
Our certificate of accuracy is written to address those two points. The regulation does not call for notarization, and no translation company can guarantee how an officer will rule on a filing.
Language data for Overland Park
The Census Bureau’s QuickFacts for Overland Park report that 14.7% of residents age 5 and older spoke a language other than English at home in 2020 to 2024, and that 11.7% of residents were born outside the United States. The city’s July 1, 2025 population estimate was 203,677.
We translate 100 languages. The ones requested most often are Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Czech. If yours is not on that list, ask us before ordering.
Courts and interpreters in Johnson County
State court cases for Overland Park residents are heard at the Johnson County District Court in Olathe. The court provides interpreters for parties, witnesses and victims with limited English proficiency, and it does not allow family members or friends to interpret because the interpreter must be impartial. Bilingual attorneys may not act as interpreters either.
An interpreter handles spoken proceedings. Written exhibits such as foreign contracts, certificates or messages are a separate matter, and the court’s interpreter page does not cover them, so ask your attorney or the clerk what form of translation the judge will expect.
The Kansas judicial branch states that it does not certify court interpreters. It offers an orientation and treats certification from another state as evidence of qualifications.
