University of Wyoming rules on translated academic records
The University of Wyoming is in Laramie, and its admissions pages set out different wording for each level of study. Read the one that applies to you, and contact the program if anything is unclear.
- Undergraduate. International first-year applicants must have official transcripts sent from the school or a NACES-approved agency. The university asks for the original-language version and an official English translation.
- Graduate. Applicants send certified true copies of official transcripts, mark sheets or exam results and include English translations. The page says transcripts must come directly from the school or a recognized agency, and that each graduate program has its own requirements.
- College of Law. International applicants provide official transcripts with an English translation when the Law School Admission Council report does not include a transcript analysis.
- Admissions contact. admissions@uwyo.edu or 307-766-5160. Law admissions: lawadmis@uwyo.edu.
What that means when you order
Because the university wants transcripts to arrive from the school or an agency, a translation you order yourself may need to travel with the official record instead of being uploaded on its own. Ask admissions how they want to receive it before you pay for anything.
We translate transcripts, diplomas, mark sheets and degree certificates and attach a signed certificate of accuracy. We do not perform credential evaluations. If your program asks for one, that comes from a separate evaluation agency.

Apostille route from Laramie
Laramie has no apostille office. Requests go to the Wyoming Secretary of State, Herschler Building East, 122 W 25th St, Suites 100 and 101, Cheyenne. You can mail the request or make an appointment to deliver it, since in-person requests are by appointment only at 307-777-7370.
The fee is $20 per document. The state apostilles documents certified by a Wyoming official or acknowledged before a Wyoming notary, and it says education records should be notarized by the school’s registrar or notarial officer. That matters for University of Wyoming diplomas and transcripts headed abroad.
If a translation of the record also has to be apostilled, we hire a notary commissioned in Wyoming to notarize the translator’s statement so that it meets the state’s requirement.
Laramie's international population
ACS 2024 five-year estimates show that about 8.4 percent of Laramie residents, close to 2,700 people, were born outside the United States. That is more than double Wyoming’s statewide share of 3.5 percent. Albany County has roughly 38,249 residents and a 7.4 percent foreign-born share.
Immigration paperwork follows the federal rule in 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3): each foreign-language document needs a full English translation, certified by the translator as complete and accurate, with a statement of competence.
