Gillette College international applicants

Gillette College’s international student page asks for high school transcripts that show a graduation date and says transcripts not in English must be officially translated. It refers applicants to NACES for that. Post-secondary transcripts, where they apply, must also be officially translated and come directly from the issuing institution.

The college also wants a Confidential Financial Statement backed by an official bank statement covering the last three months. Screenshots of accounts are not accepted. Application deadlines are July 15 for fall and December 1 for spring.

Because the college names NACES, confirm with its admissions staff whether a certified translation from us fits your file or whether a NACES member evaluation is required. We translate; we do not issue credential evaluations.

From Gillette to a Wyoming apostille

Apostilles for Wyoming documents come only from the Secretary of State in Cheyenne, at the other end of the state. Most Gillette customers will use the mail: request form, document, $20 per document by check or money order, and a prepaid return envelope or shipping label. The office does not take credit cards.

The address is Wyoming Secretary of State, Herschler Building East, 122 W 25th St, Suite 100, Cheyenne, WY 82002-0020. If you prefer to go in person, you need an appointment first, arranged at 307-777-7370 or apostilles@wyo.gov.

A county-issued record, such as a certified marriage license copy signed by the county clerk, can be submitted as it is, because the state accepts documents certified by a Wyoming county clerk. A translation is different: we hire a notary commissioned in Wyoming to notarize the translator’s statement when the translation itself needs a Wyoming apostille.

State records, notaries and immigration filings

Birth and death certificates are state records. Order certified copies from Wyoming Vital Statistics Services, 2300 Capitol Avenue, Cheyenne, online or by mail. A birth certificate is $25.

A local notary cannot make a certified copy of those records for you. W.S. 32-3-123 forbids it, and it also stops any notary who is not a Wyoming attorney from advertising as a “notario publico” or acting as an immigration consultant.

For USCIS, 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) calls for a full English translation that the translator certifies as complete and accurate, along with a statement of the translator’s competence. Gillette had 33,431 residents in ACS 2024 five-year estimates, about 3.6 percent of them born abroad.
