Casper College and translated transcripts

Casper College says it has enrolled students from more than 40 countries, and its international admissions page is specific about paperwork. It states that all transcripts must be translated into English by a translating service.

Beginning with fall 2026, the college also requires high school transcripts to go through a credential evaluation by a NACES member organization. College transcripts need an evaluation too if you want transfer credit. International applications must be received, and the student admitted, three months before the semester starts.

Translation and evaluation are two separate steps. We provide the translation. Ask your evaluator whether it wants the translation sent with the original-language record.

Natrona County courts and clerks

Casper is the seat of Natrona County and of Wyoming’s Seventh Judicial District. These are the offices where a translated record is most likely to be filed or requested.

Interpreters are not the same as translated documents

Wyoming courts arrange and pay for spoken-language interpreters in certain case types, among them felonies, misdemeanors, protection orders and juvenile matters. The statewide roster lists interpreters at two levels, Professionally Certified and Registered.

That policy is about speech in the courtroom. It says nothing on written exhibits such as a foreign divorce decree or birth record. If you plan to file one in Natrona County, ask the clerk or your attorney what kind of translation and certification the court will want.

Birth, death and marriage records for Casper residents

Certified copies of Wyoming birth, death, marriage and divorce records are issued by Vital Statistics Services in Cheyenne, not by a Casper office. You can order online or by mail. A birth, marriage or divorce certificate is $25, and a death certificate is $25 for the first copy and $20 for each additional copy.

Do not ask a notary to certify a photocopy instead. Wyoming law, W.S. 32-3-123, bars a notary from certifying a copy of a birth, death or marriage certificate. The same statute bars a notary who is not an attorney from using the term “notario publico” or giving immigration advice.

Getting a Wyoming apostille from Casper

The only apostille office in the state is the Wyoming Secretary of State in Cheyenne, so from Casper the usual route is mail. Send the request form, the document and $20 per document by check or money order to Herschler Building East, 122 W 25th St, Suite 100, Cheyenne, WY 82002-0020, with a prepaid return envelope or shipping label. In-person service exists but is by appointment only.

The state accepts documents certified by a Wyoming official or acknowledged before a Wyoming notary. If your translation must be notarized for a Wyoming apostille, we hire a notary commissioned in Wyoming to notarize the translator’s statement. The request form asks for the destination country, so have that ready.

Languages and immigration filings

About 2.1 percent of Casper residents, roughly 1,240 people, were born outside the United States according to ACS 2024 five-year estimates. Natrona County has about 80,410 residents.

For USCIS, 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires a complete English translation with the translator’s certification of accuracy and competence. We work in 100 languages, most often Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Czech. Ask us about others.
