Colleges in Glendale and what they ask for

  • ASU West Valley campus. 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale, AZ 85306. Accepted translators are the issuing school, an official translation service, a Ministry of Education, consulate or embassy, or Education USA. Students may not translate their own records, and ASU says translations certified by a notary public are not acceptable.
  • Midwestern University. 19555 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85308. Its Arizona catalog says applicants seeking credit for prerequisites completed outside the United States must obtain official course-by-course evaluations from approved services, and names Education Credential Evaluators, World Education Service and Josef Silny & Associates.

Arizona apostille: what the Secretary of State requires

The Arizona Secretary of State charges $3 per document for an apostille or certificate of authentication. You submit the Apostille/Certificate of Authentication Request form with the document and payment.

Mail requests go to Secretary of State, Attn: Apostille Dept., 1700 W. Washington Street, Fl. 7, Phoenix, AZ 85007-2808, with return postage, and take 10 to 20 business days. Mail requests cannot be expedited. Walk-in service at the State Capitol Executive Tower, 1700 W. Washington Street in Phoenix, is same day for an added $25 expedite fee, with a limit of 6 documents. Credit cards and cash are accepted in person only.

The office accepts an original notarized document or a certified recorded document, not a photocopy. A birth certificate from the Lamar Road office qualifies as a certified copy issued by a government office. Our own notarization of a translator’s statement is performed outside Arizona, and the Secretary of State directs documents from other states to that state’s Secretary of State. We help with apostilles, so ask us which route fits your document.
