Languages in Scottsdale, according to official data
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates Scottsdale’s population at 243,006 as of July 1, 2025. Its QuickFacts table reports that 13.0% of residents age 5 and older speak a language other than English at home and that 11.4% of residents were born outside the United States (2020 to 2024 figures).
Scottsdale City Court publishes a Language Access Plan. It names Spanish, Arabic, Kinyarwanda, Russian and Farsi as the languages for which the court most often needs interpreters.
Courts that Scottsdale residents deal with
Court interpreters and document translation are separate things. The city court’s plan says interpreters are provided in all courtroom proceedings at no cost to people with limited English, and that the court has translated a number of its own forms into Spanish. Translating your personal documents into English is left to you.

It also says official word-for-word English translations must be certified by a professional translator and carry the translator’s signature or stamp.
- Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. The M.D. program’s published requirements say all applicants must hold a bachelor’s or Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.

The route to an Arizona apostille
Apostilles for Arizona documents come from the Arizona Secretary of State. The office asks for an original notarized document or a certified recorded document and states that a photocopy is unacceptable. Government records such as birth, death and marriage records must be certified copies issued by the government office that holds them.
A translator’s statement that we have notarized is notarized outside Arizona. The Secretary of State says documents from other states must be certified by that state’s Secretary of State, so ask us which office applies before you send anything. We can help with the apostille step.
