Apostille Service in Round Rock, Texas

Apostille Request Form

Round Rock has been home to Dell Technologies’ headquarters since 1994, and that global footprint shapes the paperwork people here bring to us. Engineers relocating to a sister office overseas, companies opening a foreign subsidiary, graduates of the city’s university campuses applying for jobs abroad: each of them eventually hears that a foreign government wants an apostille.

Apostille Authentications handles that step for Round Rock clients by mail and courier. We review your documents, prepare the Texas request, and submit it to the Secretary of State in Austin. We do not keep a storefront in Round Rock, and we never ask you to visit one. This page explains which local offices issue the records you will need, what the state charges, and how our apostille service for Round Rock, Texas works from start to finish.

Paperwork Round Rock's Technology Employers Generate

Round Rock’s employer base is unusually international for a city its size. Beyond Dell, published lists of major local employers include IKEA, Emerson Process Management, KoMiCo Technology, Tekscend Photomask, TECO-Westinghouse and Cintas. When those businesses, or the people who work for them, deal with foreign agencies, these are the documents we see most often:

  • Corporate records such as certificates of formation, certificates of good standing and assumed name filings, needed to register a branch or open a bank account abroad.
  • Powers of attorney and board resolutions, signed before a Texas notary, that authorize someone overseas to act for the company.
  • Employment verification letters for work visas, which must carry a proper notarization before Texas will apostille them.
  • Personal records for transferees: birth certificates for children, marriage certificates for a spouse’s dependent visa, and diplomas for degree recognition.

If your employer’s legal or mobility team has given you a checklist from the destination country, send it with your order. It tells us whether an apostille is enough or whether the country requires embassy legalization instead.

Round Rock's Higher Education District and Your Academic Records

Off University Boulevard, Round Rock has a cluster of campuses that produce a steady flow of diplomas and transcripts headed overseas:

  • Texas State University Round Rock Campus, established in 1996, offering upper-division and graduate programs, including health professions in Willow Hall.
  • Austin Community College Round Rock Campus at 4400 College Park Drive, with nursing, sonography and radiology programs plus the Round Rock ISD Early College High School.
  • Texas A&M Health Science Center, which opened a Round Rock campus in 2010.

Nurses and allied health graduates are a common case: a licensing board abroad may ask for an apostilled diploma and transcript. A Texas school record normally needs to be signed by the registrar and notarized first, because the Secretary of State authenticates the notary’s or official’s signature, not the school’s seal on its own. We can tell you exactly how the registrar’s office should prepare it before you request copies.

High school records from Round Rock ISD follow the same pattern: a notarized statement or certified copy from the district, then the state apostille.

Which Office Holds a Round Rock Record?

Most of Round Rock lies in Williamson County, but part of the city crosses into Travis County. The county where the event happened, not your current address, decides where the original record lives.

The Williamson County Clerk’s website lists its vital records counter in Georgetown and does not show a Round Rock annex, so call ahead if you hoped to pick up a certificate closer to home. The District Clerk handles family records requests electronically and mails certified copies, which works well if you plan to forward them to us.

From Round Rock to the Capitol Complex: How the Texas Apostille Works

The Authentications Unit of the Texas Secretary of State sits at 400 West 15th Street in Austin, just down Interstate 35 from Round Rock. That proximity tempts people to go in person, and you can: walk-ins are taken on Mondays and Fridays, with appointments Tuesday through Thursday, and in-person requests are generally completed the same day.

Many Round Rock clients still prefer to hand the job off, especially when a document might be rejected for a missing notary detail. Our process:

  1. Send us a scan first. We check signatures, seals and notary wording before anything is mailed.
  2. Ship the originals to us by trackable mail or courier.
  3. We complete Form 2102 and submit your documents with the $15 per-document state fee.
  4. The state attaches the apostille, and we return the finished documents to you or forward them abroad.

By mail, the Secretary of State says processing can take up to two weeks after it receives a request. We do not promise our own turnaround dates, because the state controls that timeline.

What It Costs

Our pricing is flat per document, with nothing hidden:

  • Apostille Authentications service fee: $195 per document
  • Texas Secretary of State fee: $15 per document
  • Shipping: depends on the carrier and destination you choose

A company apostilling a certificate of formation and a power of attorney would therefore pay for two documents. Full details are on our pricing page, and our main Texas apostille service page covers statewide requirements.

Two exceptions to know. An FBI background check is a federal document, so it is apostilled by the U.S. Department of State, not Texas; see our FBI apostille service. And if your destination is not a Hague Convention member, such as the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait, the document needs embassy legalization rather than an apostille.

Round Rock Apostille FAQ

I was born at a hospital in Round Rock. Should I order my birth certificate from the county or the state?

Either works for an apostille. The Williamson County Clerk in Georgetown issues certificates for births in the county, and Texas Vital Statistics issues them statewide. If you order from the state, choose Apostille as the reason for the request.

Can Dell or another employer’s HR letter be apostilled?

Yes, if it is signed before a Texas notary with a complete notary certificate. Texas apostilles the notary’s signature, so an unnotarized company letter will be refused.

My Texas State University degree was earned at the Round Rock Campus. Is it handled differently?

No. It is a Texas State University diploma, and the registrar’s notarized certification is what the Secretary of State authenticates, regardless of which campus you attended.

Part of my neighborhood is in Travis County. Does that matter?

Only for where the original record is kept. A divorce granted in a Travis County court, for example, comes from the Travis County District Clerk in Austin, not Georgetown. The apostille itself always comes from the Texas Secretary of State.

Do you have an office in Round Rock?

No. We work with Round Rock clients entirely by mail and courier, which avoids any trip to Austin or Georgetown.
