Apostille Service in Burleson, Texas
Apostille Request Form
Burleson sits along Interstate 35W about 15 miles south of downtown Fort Worth. Unlike its Tarrant County neighbors, most of Burleson is in Johnson County, with only a small northern section reaching into Tarrant County. That split shapes how residents get the certified records an apostille requires.
Apostille Authentications offers apostille service for Burleson, Texas without a local storefront. We work by mail and courier: you send the documents, we check them against Texas rules, and we submit them to the Secretary of State on your behalf. Below you will find the Johnson County offices that matter, what to do if your record is from Tarrant County, and how school and work documents are handled.
Interstate 35 opened through Burleson in 1960, and today I-35W and State Highway 174 tie the city to both Fort Worth and Cleburne. A single household’s papers can easily come from more than one county. When a foreign consulate, university or employer asks for an apostille, the first task is tracing each document back to the office that originally issued it.
The Johnson County Clerk's Burleson Satellite Office
Burleson residents do not always have to drive to the county seat in Cleburne. The Johnson County Clerk runs a satellite office at the Burleson Sub-Courthouse, 247 Elk Dr., Burleson, TX 76028. According to the Johnson County Clerk, this office helps qualified applicants with:
- Marriage licenses
- Texas birth certificates
- Johnson County death certificates
The Burleson office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closing from noon to 1 p.m. Its phone number is 817-202-2968, option 2. Certified copies of older marriage records are not listed among its services, so for those you may need the main office.
Main office in Cleburne
The full County Clerk office is in the Historic Courthouse, Room 128, 2 N. Main, Cleburne, TX 76033 (mailing: P.O. Box 1986). Call 817-202-4000, extension 2532. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and the office may close early before holidays.
Divorce Decrees From the Johnson County District Clerk
Court records, including divorce decrees and custody orders, are kept by the District Clerk rather than the County Clerk. In Johnson County, that office is at the Guinn Justice Center, 204 South Buffalo Avenue, Cleburne, TX 76033. The phone number is (817) 556-6839 and the email is JCDC@johnsoncountytx.org, per the District Clerk’s page. No Burleson branch is listed.
Order a certified copy of the decree. The Texas Secretary of State apostilles the clerk’s signature, so a plain photocopy, even a notarized one, will not be accepted. Also check the date on any decree copy you already own. Texas requires recordable documents to be less than five years old, so an older certified copy will need to be replaced before submission.
If Your Record Comes From Tarrant County
Because Burleson’s northern edge lies in Tarrant County, and because many residents were born or married in Fort Worth, some records will come from Tarrant County instead. The nearest Tarrant County Clerk vital records counters to Burleson include the Dionne Phillips Bagsby Southwest Subcourthouse at 6551 Granbury Road, Suite 110, Fort Worth, and the Mansfield Subcourthouse at 1100 E Broad Street, Suite 102. All Tarrant vital records sites share 817-884-1550 and weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as shown on the county’s locations page; call to confirm services at each.
Tarrant County divorce records are at the Family Law Center, 200 E. Weatherford, 3rd Floor, Fort Worth (817-884-1265), per the District Clerk.
Birth and death certificates for any Texas county are also available from Texas Vital Statistics. When ordering, select Apostille as the reason, as explained by DSHS.
Hill College, Texas Tech and Burleson ISD Records
The Burleson Higher Education Center hosts a local Hill College campus and also serves Texas Tech University. Most of the city attends Burleson ISD, with portions in Joshua ISD, Everman ISD and a small area in Mansfield ISD.
Degrees, transcripts and high school diplomas are treated as non-recordable documents by the Texas Secretary of State. To qualify, a school official must sign the record or a statement about it, and the signature must be notarized. We recommend asking the registrar for this specifically, since a standard transcript request does not include a notary.
If the foreign school or employer also needs a translation, our translation services can be coordinated with the apostille.
Aviation, Manufacturing and Food Industry Documents
Burleson’s 2023 financial report, as summarized publicly, lists major employers including Burleson ISD, Walmart, the City of Burleson, H-E-B, Jellystone RV Ranch/Pirates Cove, Air Center Helicopter, Golden State Foods, Champion Buildings and Basden Steel. Fort Worth Spinks Airport sits on the city’s northern edge, and helicopter and aviation work can lead to assignments outside the country.
Requests from Burleson’s workforce often include notarized employment letters, training certificates with a notarized statement, powers of attorney for property or business abroad, and FBI background checks. FBI records are federal, so the U.S. Department of State issues their apostille; our FBI apostille service covers that route.
Business owners in construction, steel and manufacturing sometimes need contracts, resolutions or letters of authorization accepted by a foreign buyer or partner. These are signed by a company officer before a notary, and we review the notarial certificate before the packet leaves our hands so the state does not return it for a technical defect.
