Apostille Service in Corpus Christi, Texas
Apostille Request Form
Few Texas cities are as connected to the rest of the world as Corpus Christi. Naval aviators from the United States and allied nations train here, crude oil and liquefied natural gas leave the port for overseas buyers, and Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi sends graduates into international research and business careers.
Those connections generate paperwork. A Navy family heading to an overseas posting, an engineer accepting a job abroad, or a graduate enrolling in a foreign university may each be asked for Texas documents with an apostille from the Secretary of State.
Apostille Authentications prepares Corpus Christi documents and files them in Austin. We do not have a Corpus Christi office; our clients send records by mail or courier, and we return them the same way.
Navy Families at NAS Corpus Christi and the Army Depot
Naval Air Station Corpus Christi has supported pilot training since 1941. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and foreign student pilots earn their wings here, and Training Air Wing Four runs the training squadrons. The station also hosts the Corpus Christi Army Depot, the primary depot maintenance facility for Defense Department rotary-wing aircraft. The air station is listed among the city’s largest employers.
Military and civilian personnel moving overseas, and families with children born in the area, commonly ask us about:
- Birth certificates for children applying for a foreign passport or residence card.
- Marriage certificates for a spouse’s visa or local registration abroad.
- Divorce decrees needed before remarrying in another country.
- Notarized powers of attorney so a relative can act on the family’s behalf while they are away.
Federal records are not handled by Texas. FBI background checks and other federal documents receive their apostille from the U.S. Department of State; see our FBI apostille service for that process.
Where to Order Corpus Christi and Nueces County Records
Three local offices issue most of the certified documents we apostille for Corpus Christi clients.
| Document | Office | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| Birth and death certificates (events in Corpus Christi) | Corpus Christi Public Health, Vital Records | 1702 Horne Road, Room 21 · (361) 826-7229 · Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–5 p.m., closed noon–1 p.m. |
| Marriage licenses; some older birth and death records | Nueces County Clerk | 901 Leopard St., Room 201 · (361) 888-0580 |
| Divorce decrees and court orders | Nueces County District Clerk | Nueces County Courthouse, 901 Leopard St. · (361) 888-0450 |
The city’s vital records office charges $23 for a certified birth certificate and $21 for a death certificate, with additional death certificate copies at $4. Through the state system, the city can also issue birth certificates for births elsewhere in Texas, according to the DSHS local office directory.
A detail that matters for Navy families: births on the Naval Air Base before April 1, 1963, and births at Riverside Hospital in Robstown before November 1, 1981, are handled by the Nueces County Clerk rather than the city. If a parent or grandparent was born on the base, start with the County Clerk.
When ordering from Texas Vital Statistics (DSHS) instead, select “Apostille” as the reason on the application.
Port of Corpus Christi and Energy Export Careers
The Port of Corpus Christi is the largest U.S. gateway for crude oil exports and moved about 203 million tons of cargo in 2025. Liquefied natural gas exports, led by Cheniere Energy’s Corpus Christi LNG terminal, have grown quickly in recent years.
Energy, shipping and construction work tied to the port creates a steady need for authenticated documents:
- Notarized degree and certification copies for engineers and technicians taking foreign assignments.
- Certificates of formation, good-standing certificates and corporate resolutions for companies contracting with overseas buyers.
- Powers of attorney for international transactions.
Our authentication service handles business documents along with personal records.
Island University and Del Mar College Credentials
Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi sits on Ward Island and calls itself “The Island University.” It opened in 1947 as the University of Corpus Christi and joined the Texas A&M System under its current name in 1989. Its research centers include the Harte Research Institute for Gulf issues and an FAA-designated unmanned aircraft test site. Del Mar College, the city’s community college, serves students across Corpus Christi.
Graduates who plan to work, teach or study abroad usually need a notarized document before Texas will issue an apostille. Request an official transcript or registrar’s letter, or prepare a diploma copy, and have a Texas notary complete the notarial certificate. Public school diplomas from Corpus Christi ISD, Flour Bluff ISD, Calallen ISD and the city’s other districts follow the same approach.
If the receiving country wants the documents in its own language, our translation service can help.
Neighborhoods Outside Nueces County
Corpus Christi is the Nueces County seat, but parts of the city extend into Aransas, Kleberg and San Patricio counties. For apostille purposes, the county where a record was filed decides which clerk holds it.
- A marriage license issued in San Patricio County comes from that county’s clerk.
- A divorce finalized in a Kleberg County court is certified by that county’s District Clerk.
- Birth and death certificates for events inside the city can be ordered from Corpus Christi Public Health or DSHS.
The same applies to couples who live in Corpus Christi today but married or divorced in a neighboring county years ago. Tell us where the event took place and we will confirm the issuing office before you order, so you do not pay for a copy that cannot be used.
State Fees, Processing and Non-Hague Countries
The Texas side of every request works the same way:
- Filing office: Authentications Unit, Texas Secretary of State, 400 West 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701, using Form 2102.
- State fee: $15 per document.
- Our fee: $195 per document.
- State timing: up to two weeks for mailed requests after receipt; same-day service at the counter, with walk-ins Monday and Friday and appointments Tuesday through Thursday.
We do not guarantee a completion date, since the state controls processing. Destinations that are not in the Hague Convention, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait, require embassy legalization in place of an apostille.
